Activation of Dolomite Flotation by Ferrous Hydroxide and Carbonate

The major problem with Carlin-type gold deposit flotation is that the high dolomite content in concentrate decreases quality of gold. Further, activation mechanisms involved are still not fully understood. Herein, correlation Fe2+ conversion xanthate adsorption and was investigated to reveal effect embedded pyrite. Flotation tests suggested rather than Fe3+ improved floatability from 20% 45%. Contact angles thermodynamic indicated hydrophobicity Fe2+-modified corresponds xanthate.
